Life would be better if.....

Hmmmm I so don't want to be one of those people who only blogs every once in awhile....but that's turning out to me me! Waaaaaaaaa! Where does the time go?

They say as you get older time flies. I don't know about you but my days are going into light speed!

The last 3 months have been challenging in that I've been taking care of both my sisters who have had serious health issues.  Being a caregiver, a woman, a mother, a friend, an entrepreneur, and a helper-freak....well....somethings gotta give. And it's been the social media time that goes by the wayside first. Hey, we all have these times in our lives and my motto is; Smile.  This too shall pass.

My other motto is; If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Any guesses where that came from?

Thumper said it in "Bambi". Man that Walt Disney was right on.  I was traumatized in two ways.  That saying (which changed my life forever) and Bambi's mother being killed. Which by the way probably traumatized everyone as a kid.

Now that we're on a roll for sayings here, I have one more for you that rocks my world.

Be awesome

The start of the new year is truly like re-setting the clock for me. And I like that. I'm given a valid reason to remake myself and it's a social starting point. I keep my new years resolutions to myself and that's really because as an "old bird" I have in the past fallen on my face many times and well - only I have to be the sufferer of my failures (if that's how one wants to look at it).

This year started out pretty much on track.
I sat with my family on New Years Eve in front of the fireplace creating a vision board and then stepping outside the door and banging pots (with other pot bangers) at midnight!

Woke up refreshed and then went down to English Bay and jumped in the water for the annual polar bear swim! Truly a great way to bring in the New Year! I vision myself and fellow female warriors doing the dip for 2016 all wearing tutu's.  It's a dream of mine.

As for Jibe Designs - this is truly the year I make or break my little design business. 2014 was a hit and miss as I just wasn't feeling the creative juices flowing.  It picked up near the end and I finally feel like this is what I want to do for the next little while.  Deep inside I know that as a designer I can create from any little niche in the world and eeke out a simple living.

So bring it on 2015 and let's be awesome.  Namaste
